This was my very first homebrew! It was an all extract amber ale kit that came with my initial brewing equipment. Here's the link to the kit from the seller I bought from. This kit resulted in a pretty decent amber with some nice hop character including more bitterness than I anticipated - I guess the pre-hopped extract combined with the included hop pellets got the job done.
Since it's a kit I'm not sure how much good it is to post the ingredients, but here they are:
- 1.5 kg can Munton's "Hopped Amber" Liquid Malt Extract
- 2 lbs Munton's light Dry Malt Extract
- 1 oz. UK Gold First hop pellets
- packet Munton's dry brewing yeast (Ale)
- 5 oz dextrose (primer for bottling)
This was a simple boil with 1.5 gal of water. Added cold water in fermenter to make 5 gal total.
Initial grav ~1.047
Final grav ~1.020 <- this is wrong as it was taken *after* I added the priming sugar (oops, first brew)
